Caglar will share audio bites and film clips gathered from his research in Walsall.
The New Art Gallery Walsall is delighted to be hosting the 2015-16 Adam Reynolds Memorial Bursary, an annual residency established by disability-led arts organisation, Shape, to support mid-career disabled artists to develop their practice and profile.
This year’s recipient, digital and video artist Caglar Kimyoncu, will use the bursary to extend his research into the issue of the militarisation of youth and provide a space for those voices he identifies to be excluded or marginalised in society. His residency is informed by his perspective as a disabled person and background as the son of a professional soldier.
Please book your seat for the sharing by emailing or phoning The New Art Gallery Walsall and let us know if you have any access requirements

This month, we attended and introduced the first in a series of events at The New Art Gallery, Walsall which will follow the progress of our current Adam Reynolds Memorial Bursary artist in residence, Çağlar Kimyoncu.
Over the course of his three month residency, Çağlar will be conducting conversations under the project title ‘Conscience: the militarisation of youth in Britain’. This is a research-based installation piece which builds on previous projects exploring militarisation, conscription and conscientious objection in Turkey and Israel.
